Just looking at them, what material would you say this cutlery is made of? We would probably answer the same, but nothing of the sort. PLA is a material that, both visually and once you have them in your hand, can perfectly pass for a conventional plastic.

If you have come this far, we are sure that you are looking for the best option for knives, and also that you will be happy to know that you have before you the perfect resistant solution to replace the classic disposable plastic cutlery. Rigidity, strength and ergonomics, they cut all types of food without any problem. Once you have these cutlery sets in your hand, you will ask yourself: how is it possible that they contain no plastic at all?

Polylactic acid, commonly known as PLA, is a bioplastic obtained from natural resources such as corn starch. Both the production of this material and the manufacture of this cutlery is totally sustainable and environmentally friendly. There are many advantages that PLA knives can offer you and you should know about them, we will tell you about them:

  • Sustainable: if there is one advantage of PLA that should be highlighted above all others, it is that it is a biodegradable and compostable material. Once disposed of in the organic bin, this material will degrade without generating any type of waste, thus contributing to environmental sustainability.
  • Resistance similar to plastic: as we have already mentioned, both to the touch and visually, the appearance of PLA is very similar to that of conventional plastic obtained from petroleum derivatives. By using bioplastic to manufacture disposable cutlery, products with high resistance are obtained.
